Located in the heart of Constable Country you are spoilt for choice of the many beautiful surrounding attractions including Flatford Mill, where its centre buildings, particularly the Mill and Willy Lott’s House, are instantly recognisable since they feature in many paintings by John Constable.  Dedham is a wonderful place to visit for afternoon tea, a walk beside the river or to hire a rowing boat for an hour or two.

The Suffolk village of Long Melford is famous for its antiques and many an hour can be passed in the many different shops along the length of the high street. Long Melford is also home to the beautiful Tudor period historic house Kentwell Hall which is open throughout the year with various events including re-creation days and music festivals.  Afterwards relax in Cavendish Village where its green is the ideal spot to picnic, its quintessential ‘English Chocolate Box’ appeal has been used by many artists throughout time.

Colchester is Britain’s Oldest recorded town and features many historical attractions amongst which are the Roman Walls, Norman Castle and museum which houses various collections of national and international importance. The Castle is set in fabulous Gardens, designed in the Victorian era, where there is a boating lake, cricket ground & riverside walk all to discover. 

The award winning Colchester Zoo is a fantastic day out for adults and children.  It is home to over 200 species of animals and reptiles in award winning enclosures. Here you have a chance to get close to the animals, feed the elephants and giraffes or see the free-flying birds of prey.
